I came across this little gem today: a reflection on the woman who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment, and then Matthew 14:34–36, another scene where people reach for the fringe of His clothing and are healed. I had not really held those passages together before.
Reading it in its Jewish context brings a rewarding richness to it. Incidental details start to carry more meaning. I am not sure how far the connections go, but the pattern is there.
Not just one woman, but crowds doing the same quiet action…
